The Harbor View Yacht Club is a Community-based social and recreational club. All Harbor View residents are welcome and boat ownership or nautical knowledge is not necessary.
Our main goals are to encourage the use and enjoyment of our waterfront assets, and to make access to Long Island Sound available, affordable and enjoyable to the Community.
The Yacht Club sponsors a series of boating, instructional, and social events during the season. These include the spring Commodore’s Brunch, the “Anything That Floats” series of sailboat races (including post-race “protest meetings'), off- or on-island picnics, instruction on basic sailing and boat handling, miscellaneous on-water activities, and the annual Steak Dinner -- traditionally the windup event of the summer season.
Additionally, HVYC coordinates mooring spaces with the Norwalk Harbormaster and provides and maintains the five-mile-an-hour buoys in Peach Island Sound.
In recent years, members have volunteered for instruction in sailing, small-boat handling, salt-water fishing, and boat maintenance and repair.
